Ximena Valdivia (Cusco, 1988) es directora, guionista y música radicada en Ciudad de México. Ximena Valdivia (Cusco, 1988) is a director, screenwriter and musician based in Mexico City.

Me interesa la creación de nuevos mitos. Filmo la música, el cuerpo y las culturas de la periferia, en escenarios donde lo ancestral y lo contemporáneo conviven sin contradicción. Lejos del realismo latinoamericano, me enfoco en la realidad hasta que emerge la fantasía futurista latente en ella. I am interested in the creation of new myths. I film music, the body and cultures at the periphery, in settings where the ancestral and the contemporary coexist without contradiction. Away from Latin American realism, I focus on reality until the futurist fantasy latent in it surfaces.

Codirigió el documental Lima grita, que se estrenó internacionalmente en Sheffield Doc/Fest en 2019 y fue reseñado en Sight & Sound. Su primer largometraje de ficción, 4EBER, está en post producción y fue destacado en Variety. Desarrolla SIRINU, su próximo largometraje de ficción, filmado también en Cusco. Como Xim Jim publicó el EP El Susurro es un Misterio con piano and coffee records. She co-directed the documentary Lima grita, which had its international premiere at Sheffield Doc/Fest in 2019 and was reviewed in Sight & Sound. Her first fiction feature, 4EBER, is in post-production and was featured in Variety. She is developing SIRINU, her next fiction feature, also to be shot in Cusco. As Xim Jim she released the EP El Susurro es un Misterio on piano and coffee records.
